Additionally, with each panel monitored individually, we can fix any fault within 24/48 hours, rather than you waiting and getting a higher power bill maybe months later. Without the monitoring, this could be the first point you realise something is not working correctly.
We quote, answer questions, overcome any technical issues, advise on the aesthetics of the installation, do a quality job and clean up.

How do I get the best position for my solar panels ?
When we do our quote, we will discuss with you the best placement that takes into account functionality and appearance, whilst making the installation sit as neatly and aesthetically as the roof will allow. By discussing this before accepting the quote, you have a clear statement and you know what to expect.
DO I NEED MY ELECTRICITY METER UPGRADED ?
Yes. Generally, your electricity provider replaces the meter free of charge or charges a small administration fee to do this. We organise and get that done as part of the overall job.
How do I get the government rebate on solar ?
Smooth Current Electrical & Solar will handle any government rebate administration and include that rebate in any pricing.

At first I thought the quote was one of the higher ones, but after digging deeper into the cheaper alternatives it was clearly worth paying a bit more for a local company who do their own installations and stand by the kit they sell.Too early to comment on reliability but I know if I have a problem the company will be on hand to help.

Understood our aims, right system at proper price: 14kW and 3 phase inverter installed cleanly in 1 day with all wiring in cavity and no mess or off-cuts left behind.

After getting 3 quotes, I asked all 3 for their opinion re a battery. Jessie, from Smooth Current, was the only one who suggested extra panels to offset night time usage (which is what a battery is for) instead of a battery. So instead of a 5kw system, which everyone suggests, I have a 10kw system. I earn twice as much for exported electricity, and the extra panels are far cheaper than a $12,000 battery. The panels will last up to 25 years, the battery only 10 years. Jessie was very patient with my questions and seemed to understand that this is a steep learning curve for some of us. The instalment was quick and clean. I love the app that comes with it and I have not found a downside to my decision.
